The elusive wet suit proved no match for me. The irony, with 86 degree water temperature on our Keys trip, there was no need for it BUT if it proves too small soon, I will consider that NO LOSS :D.
The trip was awesome and although I cannot say I had a work out plan while on vacation we did manage to keep our fitness levels on the upswing just doing the things we enjoy. We stayed in the water either snorkeling or diving every day. When visibility was less than perfect we stayed in the shallows in snorkel mode and when it improved we moved out to dive the reefs. Most was done off of our own boat. This was a work out in itself because gearing up, getting in and out of the water from a 15 foot boat was a challenge. We did pay for one offshore, two tank dive. All of this encouraged Kev to buy a BIGGER boat (about 15 min after we got home)! The 24 footer won't be ready till next year but it will give Kevin things to dream about and an outlet for his creative labor which needs to be fed continuously.
On other days we managed a bike ride out the 7 mile bridge to Pigeon Key and some Key deer encounters that were breathtaking. As well as some island explorations that snagged some wild iguana shots!
Now that we are home again, work outs have shifted into the up gear as we get ready for caving in October and my designs on a sprint triathlon are still alive. I've added yoga as a mandatory once a week as well as riding my horse on a weekly basis. Work sure gets in the way of my plans!
